Cara is the best! Our sweet pitbull shepherd mix, Annie, (1.5 years old) was barking and pulling on walks and I was looking for help. Cara immediately helped with practical tips and tools that have made a huge difference in a short time. We started with a pinch collar, which I was previously hesitant to use but she explained and demonstrated that it mimics a mother’s direction/pinch combined with a firm verbal cue. She is very knowledgeable on dog behavior and we are so grateful! Before Cara, I was not sure what behavior I would get in certain public places, and now I feel confident she will be very well behaved. See pics! Highly recommended Cara!
We met Cara back in January one month after adopting Ziggy. At that point Ziggy was just over a year old. He came from a rescue and never had the proper training needed to be social out in the doggie world. He has been a lot of work and still is but has came such a long ways with training from Cara. She truly knows her stuff.
The first few sessions were definitely the hardest. It’s a lot of training on our end that we have to adjust to and do and incorporate into our everyday lives and Cara was very clear about this and how to go about it. We started noticing changes in Ziggy’s behavior slowly over time. We did 6 sessions total over the course of January thru early April and that was mostly because our schedules conflicted with life going on and the fact that we needed a little extra time in between sessions to work with Ziggy more at home.
He has come such a long ways. Once before, we were never ever able to take him anywhere public with other dogs around because he would react and go crazy. Now he will actually sit or lay down if commanded and does very well on a leash…and our last session we practiced the beginning of “off leash” training with a 20 foot lead and he’s been doing very on they at the beach around other dogs. He has truly come such a long ways and we couldn’t have done it without Cara’s expertise! We are still working on his training now that our sessions are complete, but hope to do some amazed training when we make more progress.
Because of how far he has come, we have been able to enjoy going to the beach and Niguel Botanical Garden and get professional photos taken of him which never would have been remotely possible before.

Cara was a huge help in training our 7 month old golden retriever. She gives fantastic on the spot feedback and helps you understand what your dog is thinking when they act a certain way. Massive improvement over just 4 training sessions!

I 100% recommend Cara for help with dog training. She 100% knows her stuff and helps you achieve fast results. I desperately needed help with my wonderful, crazy 3-year-old Pitbull son on his walks -- he gets so excited to go on a walk that he near pulls me to the ground on his leash. It got so bad I was afraid to walk him at all because I could not safely control him. Cara tailored our training sessions to this particular need, and I was amazed how quickly he responded to her lessons. Of course, it is up to me (his mother) to maintain the training consistently at home in between sessions, but I would have never been able to get my dog to this point without her. We are still a work in progress, but I am so grateful for the help we received with Cara. Cara really knows her stuff - it's evident right away, and I definitely recommend her.

We called Cara when our puppy was biting and wanting to chew on everything AND everyone! She immediately had a great vibe with our dog and did a great job communicating to us. She took the time to meet us outside our home and the public training with our dog really helped. Great training tips that we still use every day!

Our pup has done so much better since doing the board and train with Dog busters. She is 6 months old with lots of energy and after staying with Cara for 2 weeks is much better on leash and has totally improved her recall. I would recommend her as a trainer!!

Your June really wants to be a good girl, but she is still a puppy. I enjoyed working with her, thank you. Please don’t hesitate to let me know if you have any questions or anything pops up with her behavior. Remember now you have a friend that’s a dog trainer so don’t struggle needlessly just call me. 
I first came to Cara with a couple issues I wanted to work on with my dog. Excessive barking was the first one, and then separation anxiety. I was very specific with my issues, so I was surprised when Cara started us out with general obedience training. But listening to her, my dog curbed his barking immediately on the first lesson!! I couldn't believe the magic she was working. We did resort to using a training collar (plastic prongs) so that we could correct my dog immediately with negative consequences when he acted up. I was hesitant on this, but Cara was great on explanations with me and I felt like she really knew what she was talking about. My dog showed major improvements in the subsequent sessions, too, so we worked on more issues than I originally thought I needed correcting. My only recommendation for improvement is about her communication when needing to reschedule meetings or if she's running late. I felt like her texting responsiveness slowed down by session 4, and we really needed to keep rescheduling. However, once we got together, everything was great and I had her full attention. I really appreciate her offering advice even after we are formally done working on my dog! I felt like she cared about the animals she works with.

Cara of Dog Busters is the answer to your dog's behavior issues! We adopted a pit bull and struggled with him pulling and not behaving, and had failed other training courses that we tried for him. Literally the first day when she arrived, she knew what type of collar he needed and got him to obey and take his walk without pulling on his leash. Cara was able to show us how to manage and calm him down. Cara is knowledgeable, and very in tune with her relationships with her clients' dogs. I highly recommend Dog Busters for your doggoes.
