Cara of Dog Busters is the answer to your dog's behavior issues! We adopted a pit bull and struggled with him pulling and not behaving, and had failed other training courses that we tried for him. Literally the first day when she arrived, she knew what type of collar he needed and got him to obey and take his walk without pulling on his leash.
Our sweet pitbull shepherd mix, Annie, (1.5 years old) was barking and pulling on walks and I was looking for help. Cara immediately helped with practical tips and tools that have made a huge difference in a short time. Before Cara, I was not sure what behavior I would get in certain public places, and now I feel confident she will be very well behaved.
He came from a rescue and never had the proper training needed to be social out in the doggie world. Once before, we were never ever able to take him anywhere public with other dogs around because he would react and go crazy. Now he will actually sit or lay down if commanded and does very well on a leash.
Questions people ask before they reach out
If yours is not here, put it in the message box and we will answer it when we call.
Is the first conversation really free?
Yes. The consultation costs you nothing and there is no obligation to book anything. You tell us what is going on, we tell you honestly whether we can help and what it would take. If we are not the right fit for your dog, we will say so.
How fast will I hear back?
The same business day. Our hours are Monday through Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Send a message outside those hours and you will hear from us the next business day. You can also call (760) 978-5513.
Do you work with aggressive or reactive dogs?
Yes. Aggression, reactivity, fear and anxiety are the core of what behavior modification addresses. Tell us exactly what your dog does and what sets it off - that detail helps us plan the first session before we even meet.
My dog is older. Is it too late to train him?
No. Adult and senior dogs learn well, and many of the dogs we work with are rescues who arrived with years of habits already formed. Age changes the pace, not the outcome.
Do you come to me, or do I come to you?
We come to you. Training happens in your home and in the real places your dog struggles - your street, the park, the dog beach, a restaurant patio. Board and train is the exception: your dog stays with us, then we come to your home to hand the training over to you.
What if I am not in San Diego?
Virtual training works anywhere. Sessions run over Zoom or FaceTime with the same trainer and the same methods. Distance is not a reason to keep living with the problem.
